Topic:  The Dangers of Fracking and It’s Legal Issues
Guest Speakers:  Phil Doe, Board Member of Be the Change, who is involved  with Food and Water Watch helping cities fight against fracking.
Wes Wilson who is also with Be the Change. Wes was with the EPA  for 30 years, and now he is educating people about the dangers of fracking.
Shane Davis who is a biologist will be talking about the impact that fracking has on wildlife

The oil and gas industry has thousands of dollars to spend to spread their misleading messages about fracking.  However, we have our voices.  We just have to add to these voices, and the way we add to the voices is to invite friends. Remember, Fracking is not a Dems’. issue or a Republican issue, or even a Green Party issue. It is an issue that affects every living being.

Bring your neighbors, bring your family, bring your friends……

Hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking”, is the process of drilling and injecting fluid into the ground at a high pressure in order to fracture shale rocks to release natural gas inside.   Each gas well requires an average of 400 tanker trucks to carry water and supplies to and from the site.    It takes 1-8 million gallons of water to complete each fracturing job.    The water brought in is mixed with sand and chemicals to create fracking fluid. Approximately 40,000 gallons of chemicals are used per fracturing.     Up to 600 chemicalsare used in fracking fluid, including known carcinogens and toxins such as…lead, uranium, mercury,  radium, methanol, and so much more….. Is this what you want your children to drink?
